Will Antichrist and False Prophet step forward?

For hundreds of years, Protestand Reformers and Catholic theologians thought that the False Prophet or the Antichrist would come from the office of the Pope.  Why would so man informed and educated people agree on this with the office of the Pope.  According to St. Malachy's prophecy (vision) of the last 112 popes, 112 would be the last, and the False Prophet.  He would guide 'his people' through 7 years of tribulation and Rome would be destroyed.  The Bible speaks of the Jews seven year period of tribulation (Dan. 9:27; Rev. 11:3, 12:6- latter half), so these seem to coincide.
According to Malachy's prophecy, Pope Benedict is #111.  He is 85 years presently, and in deteriorating health.  He has made the statement that he may step down if his health warrants it.  It also seems that there has been, or is, some power struggle going on for the next pope's office, which is more closely researched at www.raidersnewsupdate.com or www.prophecyofthepopes.com
Many prophecies are converging to show that we are living in the last hours of the last days.  As many of the world's pagan religions testify, could 2012 be the year that ushers in the reign of Antichrist, and his prophet?

The disappearance of God's people, the catching away of the saints, the rapture is not far off.  Israel is God's time clock.  The last wars described in the Bible describe the time when God will resume his program with Israel.  Just before this happens, the Lord will return for His people.
2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;

GET READY!  The times are upon us, and the world is quckly coming upon a time with so much destruction and death it has never before experienced.  If you have never repented of your sins, and called on Jesus to be your savior and Lord, do so right now.  The enemy of your souls has you, and wants to keep you from knowing the goodness and graciousness of your Maker (Rom. 10:9,10).
