Will the Two Witnesses Arrive Soon?

As much of the world knows, something is definitely afoot today, books, movies, media saying we are in the last days, or that humanity is at an era preparing to cross over into a new age unparalleled before in human history.  The Bible has much to say about this, and in fact, there are numerous watchmen who are sounding the alarm, trying to wake people up to the fact that we are in the prophesied last days, where a great deception overtakes the peoples of the earth, and even those people who follow the Bible turn away from its sound doctrines and teachings as the world falls increasingly into sin, further and further fro the truth of God.  And its interesting, real quick, how the Roman Catholic church has indicated the number of exorcisms, the the need for excorcists has grown!

So it is apparent that the number of cases of demon-possesed (or more accurately called, demonized) people is on the rise.  As the truths of God's word and His teachings are departed from more and more, and the rise of demonically inspired religions is on the rise, we can see how this is happening.  More and more people, through their rejection of God's revealed truths, and standards of righteousness, open themselves to lying spirits and demons, who start out seemingly promising good, but slowly grab more and more of a persons life, as illustrated recently here.

I'd like to do a post sometime in the near future, God-willing, addressing the problem/situation of exorcisms, and the Roman Catholic Church, which teaches a false gospel, and according to many fathers and priests of the RCC itself, is now the throne of the (fallen) archangel Lucifer

But the focus and intent of this post, is the Psalm 83 war (Psalm 83), the destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17), the 7 year Peace Treaty (Daniel 9:26), Armageddon and the return of Christ (Zech. 12-14).  I think these events will occur in this order in the layout of the last days.  There is a question about the Psalm 83 war, which I hope to investigate more, but many Jews believe this prophecy was fulfilled during the Six-Day War in 1967.  And certainly that was a Miraculous victory, where God's truth is illlustrated, "The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the LORD" (Prov. 21:31).

Scripture does give a layout, if one is careful enough to research the clues given in the texts, and place the pieces together.  That said, prophecy is not given to be able to predict events per se, but rather to recognize it when its happening.

.1 Thessalonians 5:1 Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. 7 For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk getdrunk at night. 8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

If the Psalm 83 battle still awaits fulfillment, we can expect to see that... though it appears Damascus is in a lot of turmoil right now, and her own people are tearing her apart and burning down her walls. It could be that the crisis will escalate, or that the demonic Muslim hatred of the Jews will turn and it will incite the Israeli attack on the Syrian capital, which is also an Iranian proxy to terrorist groups bent on Israel's destruction.

In the layout of last day events, the next thing to expect is the signing and declaration of a Seven-year Peace Treaty between Israel and the Muslim nations of the Middle East.  In a vision, the prophet Daniel was told that there were 70 'sevens' or shabuas declared for Israel, to accomplish God's plan and bring in everlasting righteousness.  The Sixty-ninth shabua was fulfilled when Messiah was lifted up on the cross like the bronze serpent Moses lifted, upon which whomever looked was healed of their snakebites.

We see in the news John Kerry is traveling back and forth (Dan. 12:4) across the oceans, seemingly tirelessly (as portrayed in media) to work and to make this peace negotiations to work, under the administration of President Barrack Obama.  It is a given in Biblical prophecy that a peace deal will be signed:

 Dan. 9:27 And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one [seven/shabua], but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”

According to my humble understanding, this is when the two witnesses so well known for their role in the book of revelation will appear, and for the first three and a half years, they will prophesy against world-leaders, destroy by fire from the mouth all who attempt to kill them (Rev. 11:3-6), until the World leader ultimately kills them in the streets of Jerusalem when their time is up (Rev. 11:7-11).

When this is done, and the Two Witnesses are taken back up into heaven (Rev. 11:11-13), the World leader will declare himself to be God, and take his seat in the Third Jewish Temple, where and when he will demand all people take a mark, in allegiance to him and his name, and without this mark, no one will be able to buy or sell, and the will come under extreme persecution for three and a half years (2 Thess.2:3-4; Rev. 13:16-18).

The Two Witnesses are from YHWH, the merciful, benevolent God of Abraham, Isaac and Isreal, who sent His only begotten Son, in the line of Kingd David, of the tribe of Judah, because He so loved this world, and created it all to be good.  This God is and will bring increasinly harsh judgments on this world trying to warn us, to have us repent (recognize, be sorry and turn away from) our sins, to depend on Him, our loving heavenly Father who gives us every good and perfect gift (Jas. 1:17), to do His good will and to delight in Him and know Him and live forever (Jn. 11:25-26)!

If you don't have a personal relationship with Messiah, trust Him today.  All the beauty, good and right-ness you see int he world around  you are from Him!  Call on Him today, and He'll come to you and give you new life!  (John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 2:20).

Damascus leveled by IDF

Damascus has been one of the oldest continually inhabited cities on earth, for about 5,000 years.  Today it is the capital city of Syria, and the regime of totalitarian Bashr al-Assad.  The Bible predicts that Damascus will become a ruin, a heap (Is. 17:1).

The Bible has been, and continues to remain true in its fulfillment of prophecy, right up to the present time describing the scenario in the Moiddle East, and the stance of the nations of the world against Israel.  Damascus now is the not only the capital of Syria, but also the headquarters for several terrorists networks.

Israel has shown with a show of force, when fighting from Syria "spilled over" into Israel, that she will not tolerate attacks against her citizens.  Something in the near future is going to prompt fighting with Syria, and Damascus will be taken out.

But it seems it will be no pretty scenario for Israel either.  The end times Muslim jihad war with Israel is going to ecalate, and Isaiah 17 also reports that "the splendor of Jacob will fade, and his healthy body become emaciated.  It will be as if a reaper had gathered standing grain - his arm harvesting the heads of grain in the valley of Rephaim.  Only gleanings will be left in Israel, as if an olive tree had been beaten - two or three berries at the very top of the tree, for or five on its fruitful branches.  This is the declaration of the LORD, the God of Israel"  (Is. 17:4-6).

The days of this war have not ended, and as Muslims take as their example Muhammed, who broke a covenant he had made, and double crossed and destroyed all the peoples of an entire village, so we cannot expect them to honor this one.  Their God is the devil, who will stop at nothing to wipe out Israel.
