Worshipping St. Death in America

An article at CBN describing a "roundup" of religous trends describess one of worshipping St. Death, a.k.a. Santa Muerte or "the Skeleton Saint."  The article says that the devotees are not part of any organized religion.  I'm so glad!!!  Can you imagine an "organized religion" around St. Death?  I mean, that would be like full-out, hyper Satanism!  I don't think we are that far from that point anyway, especially as Americans continue to turn their backs on their Judeo-Christian heritage, and continue to put their faith in the LIE of Evolution.

As a void is left in people's lives, they begin to fill it with other things.  The Bible tells us that the whole world lies in the sway of the evil one (1 Jn. 5:19).  He hates humanity, because we were created in the image of Elohim.  So of course Satan is going to promote and encourage death to humanity, whether it be through the enviromentalists, the globalist elite, the abortionists or simply those seeking revenge out of anger or rage.  And that is the attraction to St. Death, the article notes, is that one can ask St. Death to fend off bad things, curses, etc., or ask St. Death for revenge.  Much like the self-serving god of the prosperity preachers, worshipping St. Death is all about you.  It's very fitting for our narcissitic culture.

Jesus taught us that the greatest commandments are "To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your strength, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  And the second is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself."  Why do we give the Bible and the message of Christians such a hard rap?  Because it doesn't let us focus on what we want!

Jesus also taught us, "If you want to save your life (i.e. focus only on yourself and your goals), you will lose it, but if you lose your life for My sake, and the gospel, you will keep it to eternal life" (Mar, 8:35, Jn. 12:25).
